We just returned last night from our long weekend in Hawaii to visit my family and work. I have a number of design projects going on at the moment there and I was there to check in on construction, take photos and get information for some new projects. In short, it was a very busy few days while there but we did manage to get in some of my favorite spots on the island and enjoy
spending time with my family.
Our first day there (Friday), we started the day at Waikiki. My parents live only a short 5-7 minute drive from the famous coastline, so Nick and I drove down there just after sunrise, since we were up on Mainland time. We swam a little, laid on the beach and just took in the scene.
Then it was back to work for the morning, followed by lunch with my parents down in Waikiki again at one of our favorite beach cafes, The Shorebird at the Outrigger Reef Hotel.
Following a quick lunch, we drove up a little ways on the circle road around Diamond Head and grabbed some views of the island from up there,
before heading back for a busy afternoon of appointments.
We spent the rest of the afternoon working and ended our day with dinner atop the Ilikai Hotel at Sorento’s, a favorite of ours for the fantastic views of the island.
