On our last day in New York City this time around, we had to check out of our hotel at 1pm and didn’t need to leave for the airport until around 3pm. We had our rolling luggage with us so we needed to spend a couple hours in a place that we could just wander, indoors in the AC and not have an issue with luggage. We decided to spend a couple hours at Chelsea Market, eating and wandering and it ended up being super easy for our scenario!
LOVE
Lots of Choices for Food – Chelsea Market is basically a big food hall so you’ll have lots of choices for food. We were in the mood for a burger so we opted to Creamline which is a farm to table burger spot but you really have so many choices. You also might want to research a bit what’s there before going so you have an idea of what you’ll get if you have a hard time making food choices in the moment because there are so many to choose from!
Great Shopping for Souvenirs – I wanted to pick up some gifts for our nieces and nephew from New York and didn’t want the typical touristy things so I was super excited to find some great stores in Chelsea Market with some really great, unique souvenirs.
DIDN’T LOVE
Super Crowded – We were there on a Sunday afternoon and it was super crowded. To be honest, a little too crowded for me and I’d like to go during the week maybe and see if it’s quieter.
NOTES TO KEEP IN MIND
Wander around before you decide on food – I’d suggest doing a lap through the whole market before deciding on where to eat. There are so many choices and it goes deep into the building so wander around and then decide what you want after you see everything!
Headed to New York City?
