Park Inn by Radisson – Keflavik Airport
We were due to arrive at Keflavik airport around midnight on a Saturday night and while we usually stay in Reykjavik (about 45 minutes away), we were planning on heading out the other direction the next morning. So instead of heading into Reykjavik, I thought we’d try out staying close to the airport in Keflavik and honestly, it was so much easier and I think we’ll probably take advantage of this hotel from now on with trips to Iceland!
LOVE
Location- If you’re arriving from the airport late at night or flying out the early in the morning, this hotel’s location is fantastic. It’s about 10 minutes from the airport and nestled in the quiet town of Keflavik. It’s perfect for staying close to the airport!
Comfortable Bed – We were exhausted when we arrived and slept really soundly all night.
Parking – While parking in Reykjavik can often be an issue, this hotel has it’s own parking lot which made it super easy and convenient.
Free Breakfast – Most rooms comes with free buffet breakfast complete with warm items and Skyr which is a nice touch to take advantage of being heading out to explore.
DIDN’T LOVE
Shower – My one and only complaint with the hotel, the shower was truly awful. The water pressure was basically non-existent and for someone who really looks forward to a nice shower in the morning, this one was not good.
TIPS
Stay here if you want to be close to the airport – If you don’t want to deal with the drive to and from Reykjavik to the airport for a flight, this is a fantastic option to stay closer to the Keflavik airport.

Hi, intersting post. Will keep in mind this hotel when visiting Iceland. I have a cheeky question for you. Do you contact hotels/accommodation up front letting them know that your are planning to stay there? Or they contact you first? Or you just choose place yourself regardless of any perks( if there are any) and then write review? Sorry for asking so many questions:)

Hi! I usually reach out to hotels more than 6+ months in advance when I know we’ll be traveling somewhere. I make a short list of places I want to stay and then I reach out to them. Some give me media discounts, some offer complimentary stays – but I also pay for a lot of hotels on my own as well. I’ll always say at the bottom of the review if I got a discount or complimentary stay and if I don’t say anything – it means I paid for it! I have a few posts on this subject if you’re interested further: https://landofmarvels.com/bloggingdesk-how-to-make-your-travel-blog-work-for-you/, https://landofmarvels.com/lets-talk-blogging-how-to-introduce-yourself-to-brands/, https://landofmarvels.com/travel-blogging-working-with-brands/

Hi Casey, thanks for your honest reply and links to your posts. Read them all and found them very informative. Thank you. I guess it is time to put together media kit and start approaching brands, whoop whoop 🙂
