We recently spent a long weekend in London over Thanksgiving weekend with my parents and I always love the Winter time in London! Especially during the Christmas season, the city is decorated head to toe and the festivities last most of November and December. And while the weather is usually cold and wet during the Winter season in London, sometimes you luck out with incredible weather like we did on this trip! While cold, the sun was out and blue sky was making everyone so happy during out few days in London in late November. But even with cold and rainy weather, there is still so much to see in London during the Holidays and here is what to wear in London in the Winter for your cold weather trip!
What to Pack:
- 1 main coat with a hood that can go with everything you pack! I brought one of my warmer long coats and then actually bought another coat during the trip, so I ended up bringing 1 and packing 2 home for this specific trip.
- Gloves and a scarf will save you. There were a lot of times on this trip, even with the sun out, that it was only in the 30’s and colder with windchill so you’ll want gloves and scarves for your time in London in the Winter. I brought 2 scarves – one thinner and one thicker and a good pair of gloves.
- Comfortable shoes! We walk everywhere in London and especially when the weather is nice, you’ll want to be walking around – so wear comfortable shoes. Even if you’re using the Tube and public transport, you’re still walking a lot and going up and down stairs so you’ll want to be comfortable. I spend most of the time in my high top Converse and then wore my black leather boots for dinners.
