I’ve consolidated the places I would recommend from my trips to France here with everything I loved, didn’t love and would suggest.
Paris
Oratio Paris
42 Rue des Bernardins, 75005 Paris, France
Loved the good design, location on the Left Bank, and small balcony
Didn’t love the small room and it got a little stuffy
Know that this hotel sometimes comes up incorrectly on Apple Maps, so use the address instead of the name
Snob Hotel
84-86 Rue Saint-Denis, 75001 Paris, France
Loved the good design, location in the Marais, and good size room for Paris standards
Didn’t love that the area was pretty busy
Know that this hotel is close to the Chatalet-Les Halles Metro station which can be really convenient if you’re traveling by train or metro during your stay
Duo Paris
11 Rue du Temple, 75004 Paris, France
Loved the comfortable bed, good location in the the Marais, and balcony
Didn’t love that this is located in a really busy area
Know to ask for a room with a balcony
Hotel Notre Dame St. Michel
1 Quai Saint-Michel, 75005 Paris, France
Loved the location, the views, and the unique design
Didn’t love the tiny elevator and really old building
Know that you’re paying for the view here but rooms are pretty standard and haven’t been updated much
Lyon
The College Hotel
5 Place Saint-Paul, 69005 Lyon, France
Loved the views, location, overall design, and easy parking
Didn’t love anything! We loved our stay here.
Know that the parking is tiny little spots so only utilize it if you have a small car
Provence
Le Mas des Herbes Blanches
Rte de Murs, 84220 Joucas, France
Loved the location, newly renovated, large room, and beautiful outdoor spaces
Didn’t love the food at the hotel restaurant
Know that this hotel is easy to go into the surrounding Provence towns by car
South Western France
Hotel Mercure Figeac Viguier du Roy
52 Rue Emile Zola, 46100 Figeac, France
Loved the renovated old building, the large room, the service, and the incredible outdoor spaces
Didn’t love the town itself as everything was open weird hours
Know that you should reserve a parking spot here and ask the hotel for instructions before arrival as the roads are tiny and narrow to get the hotel and it’s easier to park first and walk to the hotel entrance
