Nick and I have become total converts to the Hoxton Hotel brand over the last year and it’s honestly a little crazy how much the brand comes up in our conversations. As millennials, the Hoxton Hotels are just made for us it seems and we’ve loved our stays in London and Portland and are always looking forward to trying the brand out in other cities. If you haven’t stay at a Hoxton, here’s why the Hoxton Hotels are made for millennials and might be a great fit for you too!
The Design is Impeccable
The first thing about the Hoxton brand, their hotels are designed impeccably. As an Interior Designer, I obviously appreciate this but as millennials, we love a good design moment in general. The finishes are gorgeous, everything has incredible texture and the spaces are just done well. Everything is Instagrammable.
The Room Sizes are Just Right
While the Hoxton’s have several rooms types, we stick with the Cosy Up or Biggie rooms for 2 people and the size is just right. It’s not huge but it’s big enough to feel comfortable and yet still cozy.
The Lobby is Made for Remote Work
Both Nick and I never really stop working on our trips, so having a comfortable place to knock out some emails is always a plus for us. The lobbies of the Hoxton hotels are hotspots for remote working and you’ll find they fill up fast during the day. We usually take our laptops down in the morning, order a coffee and work for a bit in a beautiful space before heading out to explore wherever we are.
The Restaurants are Always Top Notch
All the restaurants we’ve tried in the Hoxton’s we’ve stayed at have been amazing quality and are well worth the visit. Usually we stay away from hotel restaurants, but in the Hoxton’s case, it’s nice to have them!
The Locations are Good but off the beaten path
One thing I love about the Hoxton brand is that most of their hotels are a little off the beaten path in more local neighborhoods of cities, but still super close to transit and near great food and culture. You won’t be in the middle of a tourist area and I love that, but you will be near public transit and great culture.
The Service Level is Great, but they Leave You Alone
I like good service at a hotel, but I hate the kind of service where they won’t leave you alone. Take care of me, but don’t watch my every move kind of service – this is where the Hoxton shines. It’s always great service and anything we need in the room, it’s done immediately but it’s not overpowering and that’s perfect for millennials.
