I’ve had a couple work projects happening in Southern California so when I had an install date in early August, I knew we should make it worth it and take a road trip. With COVID greatly hindering our movement, I’ve been trying to take advantage of seeing more of the West Coast, especially California, now that my parents are based there. So when this work trip came about, we planned a couple days on the back end of my project install to explore a bit of California before driving home. Our first stop was one that I’ve long wanted to get to: Solvang!
This little Danish town, well really it felt Scandinavian in general, was super cute and a perfect place to explore. We drove from Santa Barbara and the trip was a quick 45 minutes through beautiful mountain gorges and windy roads. When you arrive, it feels like you’ve been transported somewhere entirely different! Windmills and bakeries line the streets and string lights light the way to wander. Our stop was quick but so worth it to check out this beautiful little spot in the mountains!
