Chicago is a great city for so many things – sports, culture, city life, but it’s also an amazing food city! During my trips to Chicago I’ve tried a lot of spots, so here is my run down of where to eat in Downtown Chicago. Obviously, Chicago is a huge city so there are lots more places to try than just this list, but if you’re in the downtown and Magnificent Mile area of the city, these are my go-to spots to eat.
Labriola
We actually ate here twice on our most recent trip to Chicago because it was so good! Known locally for its deep dish pizza, I loved their pasta options. My suggestion – go earlier rather than later as it gets super crowded and loud as the night progresses.
Eataly
I love Eataly and when I’m in a city where they have one, I’m going. Their restaurant is great for a casual Italian meal followed by a wander through their incredible Italian market.
Yardbird
This fried chicken spot was delicious and had an incredible interior atmosphere. The fried chicken is amazing but my favorite – the fried green tomato BLT – divine!
Ramen-San
This intimate ramen spot is delicious and well worth a visit for a casual lunch or dinner, especially on a cold day!
The Hampton Social
This spot is loud but the food is delicious! They also have Rosé on tap, so what’s not to love.
The Original Pancake House
This chain is all over the West Coast so we were surprised to see it in Chicago. A must for breakfast near the Gold Coast neighborhood, but go early, the line was out the door when we left.
