I’ve lived in Oregon now for years and I’ve been fortunate enough to see much of my State’s gorgeous coastline, one of the most beautiful in the world in my opinion, but I can honestly say, a week ago I found the absolutely most stunning spot on the Oregon Coast: Bandon. Cannon Beach is lovely, the cliffsides of Lincoln City and Newport are beautiful, the inlets in Astoria are wonderful, but Bandon is a part of the coast that is beyond stunning. We spent the weekend exploring this area on the Southern Oregon Coast, with vistas looking out over incredible backdrops of beach with strange shaped rocks and ocean waves beating against gorgeous old textures rock-hewed cliffs.
The scenery on the coast near Bandon is more in line with what I’d expect to see from the coastlines of Scotland or Ireland, the incredible colors of the cliffside in the area more of what I’ve seen similar in Iceland. The Southern Oregon Coast is truly a special spot in my beautiful State and I’m so glad we got to explore more of the area. Nick and I spent the majority of Saturday just driving around the area, stopping to take in the stunning views, enjoying some local treats at the Face Rock Creamery and exploring the town. It didn’t hurt that it was a gorgeous blue sky day but I can’t wait to see more of this part of the Oregon Coast and it’s definitely a not-to-be-missed spot if you’re exploring Oregon.

What a gorgeous place! I love the shot looking up the beach at those rocks, and you’re right, it is the kind of rough, craggy coast you’d expect to see in Scotland! It’s so amazing how we go far and wide to find these treasures, and then they crop up so close to home as well!

Totally… it’s such a rugged coastline but so beautiful!

I looooove Bandon! and go every time I visit my nana in Oregon to get sweets from the cranberry sweets shop, and a bowl of clam chowder from the little hut near the parking lots. We also go crabbing off the docks.

Oh yea!!! We were going to get a bowl of clam chowder from that place but it was closed! 🙁

Wow. I’ve never been to Oregon really, but I LOVE the California coast. This looks like a must-see!

It’s definitely a must-see… Oregon’s coast is very different than California’s, but so beautiful!
