When we knew we wanted to head up to Ubud, we didn’t know that we’d be making such an amazing stop on the outskirts of town, but we did know that we wanted a few hours to wander the city of Ubud. I’ve always heard a lot about this bohemian town and I was curious to check it out. High on my list: wandering, checking out the temples and the famous Ubud Market. So after arriving into town, our driver dropped us off and Nick and I headed out to wander for a few hours. We walked through the market, made a loop around town, had lunch at a cute little Balinese cafe and then ended by wandering the Ubud Palace before meeting our driver again.
After our few hours in Ubud, I realized very quickly that I’d love to spend some time staying in this area in the future, but if you’re not staying in Ubud, be sure to add at least half a day to explore this great place and add it to your itinerary!

I can’t get over all the detail of their buildings. People are in such a rush to get things built these days that you just don’t see that kind of detail anymore.

I know! IT’s amazing to think about how long all these must have taken!
