When I was searching for where to go for our last night in Las Vegas on our Foodie Weekend, I wanted some place that would be very unique to Las Vegas and somewhere that we could splurge a little.  Mizumi ticks all those boxes and made for a really memorable final meal of our trip!

LOVE

Design + Aesthetic – The inside of this restaurant is over the top in the very best way.  First of all, it’s all red, everywhere.  Then it looks out over this gorgeous pond and waterfall and feels so very Vegas but in a very fun way.  It’s upscale and completely over the top at the same time.  If you’re looking for a nice high end dinner spot that wouldn’t exist anywhere other than Vegas, this is it.

Amazing Food + Sushi – Our food really was sensational here.  We ordered everything from sushi to wagyu dumplings and every bite was so delicious.  If we went back in the future, I honestly might just order a bunch of their sushi as it was some of the best we’ve had.  But they have a lot of other Japanese foods other than sushi too so even if sushi isn’t your thing, there are a lot of options.  We also tried their Robata platter which included meat, fish and vegetable skewers cooked on their Robayaki style grills and that was great too so there’s something for everyone.

Best Cocktail of my Life –  I’m not a big cocktail person and usually will just order a glass of wine if I’m going to have a drink with my meal but I decided to try their Pear Cosmopolitan and no joke, it was the best drink I’ve ever had.  I’d honestly go back to Mizumi just for that cocktail, it was that good.

Service – The staff was amazing and so diligent to make sure our meal was perfect.  Everyone from the hostesses to our server were wonderful.

DIDN’T LOVE

Nothing!  Everything was incredible, start to finish.

NOTES TO KEEP IN MIND

Right at the Entrance of the Wynn Hotel– We weren’t sure where the restaurant was located and wandered around the Wynn a bit before hand, but it’s actually located right off the main entry of the hotel right near Registration and is easy to find.

Expect to Splurge Here – We knew going into this meal that it would be our splurge meal of our foodie trip and so we weren’t shocked at the prices.  You’re definitely paying a decent amount for a meal here.  To give you an idea, with tip, our meal ended up being about $300.  That included cocktails, a hearty meal of sushi and several other dishes like wagyu dumplings, edamame, Brussel sprouts and their Robata platter, as well as dessert.  For the quality, we didn’t feel like that was that over-priced but just know it will be a more expensive dinner during your time in Vegas.

Get an early Reservation for a seat right next to the window – We were part of the first seating as we eat pretty early normally but it actually was really nice because we got a table right next to the windows looking out over the pond and waterfall outside.  Get a reservation here and you’ll mostly likely get a better table.

We’ve eaten here twice and both times it has been incredible.  The menu here is an amazing mix of Chinese and Mexican foods and no matter what you order, it’s bound to be wonderful!  Plus the restaurant itself is designed so fun that the whole experience is great from start to finish.

LOVE

Tableside Guacamole – I’m a sucker for table side guacamole made at your table and the bowl of it we had here was excellent.

Design + Atmosphere – The inside of the restaurant is designed beautifully and has a really cool vibe.

Food Quality – We ordered everything from dumplings to noodles to chorizo and potato sopas and everything was so delicious and really quality food.

Accommodating for Dairy Free Requirement – From start to finish, our server was amazing at helping me accommodate being dairy free.  She would bring the cheese on the side or when we ordered dessert that had whipped cream, brought it separated from the rest of the dessert.  They made it super easy to feel like I was eating dairy-free the whole meal.

DIDN’T LOVE

Nothing!  This was the second time we’ve eaten here and it was wonderful from start to finish.

NOTES TO KEEP IN MIND

Make a Reservation for a Better Table – We did make a lunch reservation and noticed that we got a much bigger and more exclusive table than people that didn’t have a reservation, so it might be worth making one on Open Table before you go.

Buffets in Las Vegas are a dime a dozen, but when it comes to high-end buffets, the Bacchanal at Caesar’s is the one to beat.  With an incredible array of different types of foods, it’s a feast!

LOVE

Roast Meats – I love a good roast so the roast meats section of this buffet was perfect for me.  I tried the Prime Rib, the Wagyu Beef Roast and Beef Tenderloin and all of them were delicious.  

Shrimp Cocktail and Crab Legs – I had a large helping of shrimp with cocktail sauce that usually costs $25 ordering it in a regular restaurant and it was delicious.  I don’t eat crab but people had plates upon plates of crab legs so if like it, it might be a great feature to head here!

Dessert Bar – The dessert bar at this buffet was pretty spectacular, from gelato and sorbets to chocolate lava cakes.  I tried about 5 different things and each bite was delicious and super fresh.

DIDN’T LOVE

Kind of like Disneyland to Enter – It’s kind of a production to enter the buffet although I think that’s pretty standard for most buffets in Vegas.  First you wait in line to pay.  Then you wait in line to be seated.  Then you wait in line for food.  It’s a lot of Iines, so just know that up front.

NOTES TO KEEP IN MIND

$65 per person for dinner – We felt like for us, that price was pretty good considering what you’re getting.  I probably made it more worth it than Nick as he didn’t have any of the seafood or meat roasts.  My dinner with the roasts and shrimp cocktail alone would have been $70+ at any restaurant nearby so I felt like I got my money’s worth.  But if you’re not a seafood or meat person, that price might not be worth it for you.

We first ate at Giada’s Las Vegas restaurant a few years ago and loved it!  Her take on modern fresh Italian food is wonderful and so we had to return during our Foodie Weekend escape in Las Vegas this time around.  We went for dinner on a Saturday night and had a great time!

LOVE

Arugula Salad – One of the standouts of our meal was the Arugula Salad that we started with.  Complimented with a light citrus dressing and incredible candied lemons, the salad was one of our favorite dishes that we tried.  

The Staff – The hostesses and our waiter were excellent throughout our entire experience.

The Design and Interior – The interior of the restaurant is really lovely in terms of the design.  It feels like a modern Italian spot, which is exactly the vibe you get from Giada in everything she does.  It’s light and comfortable and doesn’t feel over the top like a lot of the restaurants in Vegas.

Punctual Seating – We had a reservation at 7pm and were seated right at 7pm, not a minute later.  They were really punctual which was really nice, considering the restaurant was pretty crowded when we were there.

Accommodating for No-Dairy Requirements – As an Italian restaurant, a lot of items obviously have cheese but they asked at the beginning if we had any allergies or food sensitivities and I told them that I’m dairy free.  Our waiter went above and beyond suggesting alternatives for anything that included dairy.  For the Arugula Salad that we started with, they brought the cheese on the side so Nick could enjoy it, leaving my salad dairy free and were really helpful with that requirement the entire meal.

DIDN’T LOVE

Mostly seafood on the Menu – I had the scallops for my dinner and they were excellent, however looking at the menu, the majority of items are seafood which is harder for Nick as he doesn’t eat a lot of seafood.  If you don’t love seafood, this might be harder for you to find something as a heads up.

NOTES TO KEEP IN MIND

Make a reservation – We made a reservation through Open Table and it was easy and efficient.  We were seated right at our reservation time and I would highly recommend a reservation as this restaurant does get really crowded at peak times.
